PDF Export Problems

Having trouble generating or downloading PDFs? Here are solutions to common issues.

PDF Generation Fails

Symptoms: Export shows error or never completes.

Check Your Menu Content

  • Very long menus may timeout - try exporting sections separately
  • Remove or resize extremely large images
  • Check for corrupted content by previewing first

Check Browser/Network

  1. Ensure stable internet connection
  2. Disable ad blockers temporarily
  3. Try a different browser
  4. Clear browser cache
💡

Tip

Chrome and Firefox work best for PDF exports. Safari may have occasional issues.

PDF Looks Different Than Preview

Symptoms: Exported PDF doesn't match what you see in the editor.

Font Issues

  • Some custom fonts may not embed properly
  • Use web-safe fonts for most reliable results
  • Check if special characters display correctly

Layout Shifts

  • Margins may differ between preview and export
  • Page breaks may occur in different places
  • Enable "Print Preview" mode to see accurate output

Color Differences

  • Screen colors (RGB) differ from print (CMYK)
  • Dark colors may appear darker in print
  • Test print before large print runs

Blank Pages in PDF

Symptoms: PDF has empty pages.

Causes:

  • Section breaks creating extra pages
  • Large spacing or margins
  • Content overflow

Solutions:

  1. Review page break settings
  2. Reduce section spacing
  3. Adjust content to fit better

Symptoms: PDF is very large (many MB).

Solutions:

  1. Reduce image quality setting
  2. Compress images before uploading
  3. Use JPEG instead of PNG for photos

  2. Try a different PDF reader

Symptoms: Printed PDF looks wrong.
