Common Issues
Quick solutions to the most frequently encountered problems in Menu Studio.
Menu Not Updating
Symptoms: Changes you make don't appear on the published menu.
Solutions:
- Make sure you clicked Publish after making changes
- Clear your browser cache (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + R)
- If using a CDN, allow a few minutes for propagation
- Check if the menu has scheduling that prevents visibility
Images Not Loading
Symptoms: Images show as broken or don't appear.
Solutions:
- Check image file size (max 10 MB)
- Ensure image format is supported (JPG, PNG, WebP)
- Try re-uploading the image
- Check your internet connection
Tip
For best results, use JPG for photos and PNG for graphics with transparency.
Can't Access Restaurant
Symptoms: You see "Access Denied" when trying to view a restaurant.
Solutions:
- Verify you're logged into the correct account
- Check if your invitation has expired
- Ask the restaurant owner to verify your access
- Contact support if you're the owner and can't access
Slow Performance
Symptoms: Pages load slowly or editor feels sluggish.
Solutions:
- Close other browser tabs
- Clear browser cache
- Try a different browser
- Reduce image sizes in your menus
- Disable browser extensions temporarily
Export Failing
Symptoms: PDF or image export doesn't complete.
Solutions:
- Try a smaller page size
- Reduce the number of items in the export
- Check your internet connection
- Clear browser cache and try again
QR Code Not Scanning
Symptoms: QR codes don't work when scanned.
Solutions:
- Ensure sufficient contrast (dark code on light background)
- Print at minimum 1" × 1" size
- Test with multiple QR scanner apps
- Regenerate the QR code
Can't Delete Items
Symptoms: Delete button doesn't work or shows error.
Solutions:
- Check if the item is used in any menus (remove first)
- Verify you have Admin or Editor role
- Refresh the page and try again
Warning
Items used in published menus cannot be deleted until removed from those menus.
